My name is David Lambe and I was born and reared in County Monaghan, Northeast Ireland. From a very young age, I was always fond of Irish Music. My first CD’s included Planxty, The Bothy Band and De Dannan to name but a few.
From the age of 8, I began to learn the tin-whistle and began showing a great aptitude for it, winning many All-Ireland, Scor and music titles both in Ireland and in more recent years at All-Britain level.
I have been greatly influenced by teachers and musicians such as Eileen Mc Elvaney, County Monaghan and Eamon Curran formerly of De Dannan fame. My biggest influences include Matt Molloy and Kevin Crawford. I had spent many years perfecting the art of whistle playing so at the age of 16 I began to learn Irish Traditional flute. Today I play flutes and whistles made by Tom Aebi, Switzerland and John Sindt, Boston U.S.A.
Irish music remains my passion and I have composed many pieces of music as well as still competing in music finals all over the British Isles.
My most notable performances include live support for Stereophonics Dubai 2018 and many, many sessions with famous Irish musicians from all over the globe.
As Shakespeare once said “If music be the food of love, play on”
